About Wroclaw Medical University
Wrocław Medical University (Uniwersytet Medyczny im. Piastów Śląskich we Wrocławiu) is one of Poland's oldest medical schools, established in 1945 on the foundations of the former German University of Breslau. The six-year English Division programme trains students at the University Clinical Hospital, the Jan Mikulicz-Radecki University Clinical Hospital, and the T.
Marciniak Lower Silesian Specialist Hospital. The medical school has particular strengths in surgery (named after Mikulicz-Radecki, a pioneering surgeon), haematology, and neuroscience. Wrocław's medical traditions include significant contributions to microbiology and immunology.
The city of Wrocław is one of Poland's most beautiful and liveable — a city of 100 bridges over the Oder River, with a vibrant Market Square, numerous parks and islands, and European Capital of Culture 2016 credentials. The student community is enormous (130,000 students across all universities), creating outstanding nightlife and cultural programming. For UK students, Wrocław offers English-taught medical education at approximately £10,500/year in one of Central Europe's most enchanting cities, with proven EU-recognised qualifications and GMC registration pathway.
