About University of Glasgow

The University of Glasgow School of Medicine, Dentistry and Nursing is one of the UK's oldest and largest medical schools, established in 1751. The five-year MBChB programme trains students at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital (QEUH) — one of the largest acute hospitals in Europe (1,677 beds), opened in 2015 at a cost of £842 million as the flagship of NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde. Additional rotations at the Royal Hospital for Children, Glasgow Royal Infirmary, and community settings ensure comprehensive exposure.

Glasgow's medical research is outstanding: the Institute of Cardiovascular and Medical Sciences, the MRC-University of Glasgow Centre for Virus Research, and the Institute of Cancer Sciences are globally recognised. The university's health economics expertise (HEHTA) influences UK health policy. Glasgow is a vibrant, affordable city with world-class music, art, and architecture, offering a much lower cost of living than London while maintaining exceptional cultural richness.

For UK students, Glasgow provides excellent clinical volumes at one of Europe's newest hospitals with strong community medicine and health inequality focus.
